2012 State Pageant - Final PreTeen Pageant

Here we are back stage, getting ready for the final show.  Practicing our production number and getting ready to go out and have some fun!

Just about ready, we are so excited!!!!

I had so much fun dancing in this production number this year. It was a blast!

Here I am for my final time as 2011 Miss Utah PreTeen! This was very emotional, I have loved my time this year. It has been an amazing experience and watching my farewell video that my Dad put together for me just brought back so many memories.

Now I have the roses to give to the Top Ten girls in the PreTeen category. All of them are amazing and deserved applause just for trying something new and stepping out of their comfort zones.

I am putting on the sash on Kara, the 2012 Miss PreTeen. A Big Congrats to her. She is going to have a great year!

2012 State Pageant - Final Princess/Jr Preteen Pageant

Royalty go to each of the 4 pageants during the last day - Princess and Jr Preteen are together. It makes for a long emotional day, thats for sure.
I got to help walk the contestants on stage during the Princess and Jr. PreTeen Pageant.
Brindee and Kailee Jade during their farewell videos and goodbyes.
Yes, I totally cried. I have loved getting to know both of them this year.

2012 State Pageant - Introduction/Interview Competition

I got to go talk with these great girls as they were preparing for the Personal Introduction Competition. They were sitting in number order so I went around to try to talk with almost all of them. Some were all smiles and excited, others I could tell were nervous too. I remember being quite nervous before going on stage last year.

I took the stage first and introduced each contestant by number and handed them the microphone. Then they would give their 30 second intro and then hand the microphone back to me.

After all of the contestants had a chance to give their personal introductions and were seated back in their section,  with all the parents still in their seats, I gave my Nationals Introduction, 60 seconds long. I gave a big smile, looked at all the judges and just started. I remembered everything, with all the right timing and pauses -- my mom said it was the best I had ever given it. So confident and in control. Maybe it was because I knew I wasn't being judged this time. I was just being me!
Afterwards, the girls had their Personal Interviews with the judges. I helped guide them to and from the judging rooms. Then they had to quickly get changed again. Still time for a photo with some of my new friends!

2012 State Pageant - production number rehearsal

The production number rehearsal was closed to parents - they want it to be a surprise to the parents at the final pageant. So these are the only pictures my mom was able to get. Unfortunately, some of the girls had already left, but at least I got these.
I had so much fun getting to know these girls. Each girl had a unique personality that made them great! I was wishing each of them the best of luck and telling them to enjoy the experience and....
to just SMILE AND BE THEMSELVES!!!!!

During the formal wear competition, our choreographers are also judgeing for the "Best Escort". I am waiting for the winner to be announced.

2012 State Pageant - Help at formal wear practice

I am not sure if the formal wear practice is more for the contestants or for their dads. So fun to see all of them practice their turns and walks. I think the dads/brothers were just as nervous. Good thing this was just practice.
NAMily staffer Beshara and me

Demonstrating - Me as the contestant and Beshara as the escort

Not a great picture of the demonstration, but I am doing a wide walk, smiling as if I am looking at each of the judges.
Mom and Vivian, Brittany's mom

Yes, Moms are a little crazy too!

Brittany is so thoughtful with these little candy bags.
We even had chances to visit with the contestants and take pictures with them!

Then when practice was over and the contestants had left, Brittany and I got a little silly. Practicing with STIFF arms and crazy walks. So funny!

Love Brittany, she is such a great big sister and example to me!
